Individual Ergonomic Assessments
Our credentialled occupational therapists, kinesiologists or physiotherapist ergonomic specialists will attend your site and review workstations for individuals or for groups.
When an employee is experiencing musculoskeletal discomfort or signs of repetitive strain, an individualized Ergonomic Assessment will identify the ergonomic risk factors as well as effective and cost justifiable solutions. Solutions often include equipment adjustment, suggestions about work pace/flow, specific strategies to reduce strain and may include equipment recommendations when required. A detailed written report is provided to the employee’s direct supervisor.
Addressing the ergonomic configuration is a proactive way to prevent lost time or reduced productivity related to postural dysfunction or repetitive strain injury.
Group Ergonomic Assessments
When a department is being reorganized, or when new furniture is being provided to a group, time efficient and cost effective group ergonomic sessions are impactful. The ergonomist will attend the department and individually review each employee’s setup, but there is no individual reporting, rather a group report indicating any overall risks and potential equipment requirements.
Physical Demands Analysis (PDAs)
A Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) documents the essential and nonessential tasks of a job. The ergonomist will evaluate and quantify all of the physical and environmental demand components of the job. The PDA is utilized when determining an employee’s ability to complete the task of the specific job and when designing a pre-employment physical function screening program.
